Sorry for the wait. One of the down sides of this site is that old friends look you up and then contact you. Then you want to have long conversations with them and catch up. Sorry for the delay. Not that I didn't want to talk to my old friend but it took me away from this for a time.

I'm beginning to create an Inland Empire Burn Report. I am recording all reports of houses burning and or not burning. It may or not be accurate. As we confirm these reports we will mark them as confirmed. I want to make it clear that I have not seen these homes, I just know that many people want this sort of thing and most news agency wont print it. I'm not a normal news agency so I'm going to print it. :) I started it here and I'm building it more as we speak. Hmmmm. I guess we aren't speaking so let me change that to as you read. (I hope you can read)
Tuesday, October 23, 2007 - 6:35 PM
John and Ken on KFI radio are talking calls about people's fire complaints. I don't have time to call so I'm just going to complain here. Why can't they have more reliable information. Why isn't there one guy allowed to go into fire areas and take a count. This house burned, This house didn't and then get that information out everywhere? We need an official Ranger Al who has access to everywhere he or she needs to go. I understand that they don't want people not evacuating and wondering around those areas BUT we wouldn't need to if they would officially do it for us.
Over a half of a million people sitting back wondering if they have a house stilll. I am going to publish any information I get. I am just one guy but I'll try to get as much information out as possible. Any info that you don't see published here, let me know and I will publish it so others can have the information.
The servers is getting pretty busy. I'm getting hits from all around the world. I hope they all speak English. Sorry to complain for a bit but John and Ken made me start thinking.
Another update in a sec.

Gov.
Schwarzenegger has asked federal authorities to
issue a declaration of major disaster for California
because of the increasing damage from the Southern
California fires.
President Bush declared an emergency for California
early today soon after a request from
Schwarzenegger. That freed up federal money to aid
state and local firefighting efforts.
A declaration of major disaster would release
federal money for individual assistance, such as
crisis counseling and low-interest loans.
Schwarzenegger also requested money to mitigate fire
hazards around the state.
In a letter to Nancy Ward, the regional director for
the Federal Emergency Agency, Schwarzenegger said
officials estimate that public assistance costs will
substantially exceed $75 million.

The
Harris Ranch fire had grown to 72,000 acres and was
imminently threatening at least 1,500 homes,
including 500 in the Lyons Valley community, said
Holly Crawford, a spokeswoman with the county's
Office of Emergency Services.
That's an increase of 2,000 acres since mid-day
Tuesday, she said. Cal Fire officials were using
aircraft to determine the latest perimeters of the
fire, she said.
The wind had shifted slightly to the east and fire
officials were concerned about the Deerhorn Valley
and Lyons Valley communites, as well as the Otay
Mesa area, Crawford said.
A total of five firefighters had been injured,
including four with burns and one electrocution.
Of the four with burn injuries, two were in critical
and two in serious condition. The electrocution
victim was "okay," Crawford said.
Up to two civilians reported burn injuries today,
for a total of 22 burn injuries so far, Crawford
said.
Over the next 24 hours, Cal Fire officials said the
fire could move into land owned by the U.S. Forest
Service or the bureau of land management.
Homes
that escaped the Harris fire Sunday along Honey
Springs Road in Dearhorn Valley east of Jamul fell
to its flames Tuesday.
Firefighters from as far away as Lake Tahoe fought
against the fire, scrambling to pockets of burning
brush and flaming homes.
Some homes they tried to save, while others were too
consumed by fire to even try.
At one home, in the 2100 block of Honey Springs that
had obviously burned earlier, heavy streams of water
did nothing to quell the flames.
Fire spilled from under the eaves of the wood-framed
house while ugly grey smoke billowed from roof
vents. Firefighters had to work around the blackened
debris left behind days earlier.
It was finally hopeless and they turned their water
on a nearby propane tank.

Road (homes lost on both sides by the Catholic
Church), Circle View Drive, Valley View Drive, Camp
Helendade (some structures), and Easy Drive. Many
others areas were threatened according to the

A U.S. Forest Service division chief had a warning today for San Bernardino Mountain fire area residents who refuse to evacuate - you won't be rescued if they change their minds.
U.S. Forest Service Division Chief Randy Clauson said a number of people who refused to evacuate on Monday later made 911 calls as flames approached. All those callers made their way to safety, Clauson said.
But Clauson said rescues can't be made for people whose decisions endanger firefighters and others.
"At that point, it’s too late for us to go in and get them,” said Clauson, an incident commander. “Our goal is to not risk firefighters’ lives for people who refuse to evacuate. If we send resources in for one house, we could lose a fire line that jeopardizes hundreds of homes and puts people needlessly in jeopardy," he said.
